1) It's our first interview together, could you present us MAROON ?

Tom: MAROON was formed in 1998 and we have released 5 full albums so far and played a lot of shows. We started in Nordhausen and played in a lot of different countries til now.

2) What do you mean MAROON ?

It means something like being stranded or living on your own.

3) Could you present Order ?

Order is our newest album. It is our 5th album and we are really happy with it. It was released on April 20th in Europe. We recorded the album in Germany, mixed it in Sweden and mastered it in the USA. This all was made from November 2008 to January 2009. Order is a very diverse and powerful album. We did try to give the best we have on this album again and I think we achieved this !

4) Why have choose to call your album Order ?

Because the title represents what the album is about. I think it is very important that an album as a whole makes sense, you know ? To me a good album is not just the music. It is everything. The title, the artwork, the lyrics. All of this together has to become a coherent whole ! And with this album most of Andres and my lyrics dealt with the relationships between those who lead and those who follow. Maybe we were influensed by the artwork, but after all we had this base and everything else was constructed on it !

5) Order disclaim hate and is so powerfull and catchy. When you has write it, has you to be anger against something or someboy ?

No not really. I am not a very angry person. But, you know, everyday things happen that you don’t like and sometimes life can even bring you down or make you angry. And automatically these feelings flow into the songwriting process ! We make angry, hard music, so mostly also the lyrics deal with angry topics and so the whole thing might sound a little bit angry in the end ! That all comes very naturally because we play this kind of music.

"You french people should know best what I mean because in your country it is very common to listen to music from France !." (Tom)

6) The guitars are very heavy and the melody is awasome on Order, but uncomon for a metalcore band. Are you agree with me ?

Well, I can not say what Metalcore means. It is a question of definition and you can’t define a term like Metalcore so it could mean something very different to you than to me. We play the music we like no matter how other people will call this music ! If you call our music Metalcore I am happy with this, but if you say the melodies and the heavy guitars are not typical for what you would say Metalcore is than this is also OK. But what should I say ? I am happy if you like our music and everything else doesn’t matter (laughts) !

7) Your biography is laudatory about Order. So believe you Order is your best album ?

Of course I think so ! I mean if I would not think that our newest album is also our best where would be the sense in making new records ? I think every band always likes the newest album the most. That is just normal and that is the whole concept behind writing new songs. Everytime you start writing new songs you want to write the best songs you ever wrote and you want to make everything even better than on the last album !

8) You recorded, mastered and mixed Order in 3 studios with 3 personns ans in 3 countries. Can you explain this choice ?

We like all these studios and people who work there. We mainly chose these studios because we liked something they did in the past. We all love THE VISION BLEAK for example. A german band whose mastermind is Markus Stock with whom we recorded the album. We liked the sound they have and so we wanted to record in the same studio ! The same thing I can say about the other two studios. I mean STUDIO FREDMAN did make some great records. Another reason is that we didn’t want to sound like some certain studio and you risk this if you record everything in the same studio ! You know, people talking about the Tue Madsen sound or the Jacob Hansen sound, but we wanted a unique sound and we achieved this by working in 3 different studios !

9) What are your project for 2009 ?

We will play some festivals over the summer, we will go back to Japan and Russia. There are plans about touring the USA, Australia, China and a lot more. At the end of the year there will be a big european tour with tons of other great bands and than 2009 is over again ha ha !

10) What do you think about the European metalcore bands compare with american bands like, Madball or german to Heaven Shall Burn ...

HEAVEN SHALL BURN are from Germany. They are one of our best friends, we started with them and we live in the same area here, so… I think for american bands it is much easier to gain attention and to reach people. The USA is a very big country and a lot of people like to support the bands that come from their country. You french people should know best what I mean because in your country it is very common to listen to music from France ! In Germany most people don’t think so. Here they like to listen to american music which makes it also easier for american bands here. That’s the main difference ! It is very hard to achieve something in the USA as a european band but it is quite easy to get famous here in Europe if you are a band out of the US !
